Kanji - JLPT N5

kanji

Japanese kanji are logographic characters used in the Japanese writing system. They were borrowed from the Chinese language centuries ago and are one of the three writing systems in Japanese, alongside hiragana and katakana.

Each kanji represents a concept or a word, and their meaning can vary depending on context. There are thousands of kanji characters, but a more limited set is commonly used in everyday communication. Japanese people learn kanji throughout their education, starting with the simplest and most common characters and progressing to more complex ones.

Mastering kanji is essential for reading and writing Japanese fluently, but it can be a challenge due to the large number of characters to learn and the complexity of some of them.

This list includes the different kanji commonly taught at level A1 but also those that we find for the famous JLPT Japanese test.
