Katakana are part of the Japanese writing system. They are used to transcribe the pronunciation of Japanese words. Katakana has 46 basic syllables and there are 96 syllables with variants. These lessons are cut into several parts in order to reduce stress and be more effecient in the long term.
Look carefully at all characters used to transcribe the Japanese syllabary. Find on this table on top the Japanese Katakana and at the bottom the romanized version in the English alphabet.

Tips: Go left to right and right to left, trying to memorize each character. Close your eyes and try to visualize the characters in your head.
Play by hovering over the kana with your mouse (or touch on your phone) the kana to see the transliteration.Now take a sheet of paper and practice writing each Katakana below several times. Observe the order of the strokes to be able to draw the characters correctly. The color blue indicates the first stroke, pink the second stroke, green the third stroke, and yellow/brown for the last stroke.
